Wanda Chotomska was a classic in Polish literature for children. Many generations have grown up reading her poems and stories. I also remember many of her books from my own childhood. This book showcases her short - and very funny - poems about dogs. Illustrating a book of poetry was a very refreshing experience, as it gave me a lot of freedom to do what I wanted. These poems are also rather short, so I had a lot of space to fill :-) It did not always work the way I wanted, but one of my ideas was to make each spread to be a continuation of sorts of the previous one, a bit like in the surrealist game cadavre exquis...
